Watershed School Plans Special Veteran's Day Program

Watershed School will hold its annual Veteran’s Day program on Friday, November 11, 2016. Founder of Veterans for Peace in Maine Rob Pfeiffer will speak from 9:00 until 10:15 am, and then Watershed students will spend the day assisting a local veteran in stacking wood for the upcoming winter.

Rob Pfeiffer is the founder of Veterans for Peace in Maine, whose mission is to serve the cause of world peace. The organization works with others to increase public awareness of the costs of war; to restrain our government from intervening, overtly and covertly, in the internal affairs of other nations; to end the arms race and to reduce and eventually eliminate nuclear weapons; to seek justice for veterans and victims of war; and to abolish war as an instrument of national policy.

“We look forward to our special program every Veteran’s Day,” Watershed’s Head of School Will Galloway says. “Watershed prides itself on building strength in both academics and in character. This is an opportunity for our students to not only learn about the importance of the service of our veterans, but also to give back in some small way.”

This event is open to the public.
