Pete Kalajian Addressed Advanced Astrophotographers at Advanced Imaging Conference

Faculty member Pete Kalajian spoke at the Advanced Imaging Conference (AIC) in San Jose, California last week. AIC is the world's largest gathering for advanced astrophotographers, with over 400 attendees this year.

Pete spoke about the arcane topic of flat fielding, an essential calibration step in the production of high quality astronomical images for science and aesthetic imaging. Pete invented a series of panels to provide the even light source necessary for proper flat fielding, and built a company to manufacture and sell them.

After several years of product development and marketing, Pete sold the company, and now the panels are widely known as the gold standard for the industry.
